Bee hive in window, what to do about it?

WELL I moved into an apartment and low behold.....theres a bee hive in my window...yippie....well today it was in the low 50's, shock, and now the bees are not there....I'm wondering if maybe they LEFT :D or are they just like sleeping inside the hive...cuz I really want to open my window on hot days and not worry about getting stung....only way I can really do that is by shutting the crack of the window where they keep coming from and fix the screen to my window.
